Privacy policy

Draft for board review — not yet finalised. This page describes how the AABC intends to handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

We collect membership details (business and contact information) and event attendance information (names of members, team members, and guests) needed to run the council and its events.

Member directory consent

Directory listing is opt-in. Members choose exactly which fields are shown publicly and can withdraw consent, or change visible fields, at any time.

Marketing and unsubscribe

Every marketing email or SMS includes a clear unsubscribe or opt-out option. Once a contact unsubscribes, that choice is honoured absolutely, in line with the Spam Act 2003.

Payments and invoicing

Payment card details are processed by Stripe and are never stored by the AABC. Invoicing and reconciliation are handled through Xero.
